Companies that strive for a family-friendly culture with flexible hours and creative solutions for working parents are rewarded with low turnover and loyal employees who are committed to the company's success.

For the past 13 years, Carolina Parenting Inc., which owns Carolina Parent, Piedmont Parent, Charlotte Parent, has recognized North Carolina companies with strong commitments to work-life balance. We introduce the 2011 N.C. Family-Friendly 50, companies that help employees balance work and family life.

Click on the company names below, and you will find highlights of that makes these companies family friendly. Companies considered for this honor were nominated by the deadline and provided specific information including family-friendly benefits, services and programs.

Senior associate directors representing the undergraduate and graduate business programs at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School reviewed the information from each participating company. The final list of honorees was determined in partnership with UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.
