The job of parenting is never easy, but thanks to the Internet, there is a world of resources available for us that our parents and grandparents could never have imagined. From fun activities to do indoors on rainy days to movie reviews that tell you whether the latest flick is really kid-friendly, you can find almost anything on the Web.

AlamanceMommies.com. Part of the Mommies Network, this group provides support and resources for moms in Alamance, Caswell and western Orange counties.

Angie's List. The nationally acclaimed Web site has come to the Triad. Visit here to read consumer reviews of local businesses.

Kabooses. Although commercially driven, it's worth the pop-ups for all the cool information on this Web site. Full of crafts, activities, online games, recipes and even ratings guides of new movies, there's tons of parent help here.

Sesame Street Online. Parenting resources and plenty of games, including Elmo Peek-a-boo that you can play with your baby!

Story Place. Online stories for preschool and elementary age kids, as well as interactive activities and suggested reading lists on a wide variety of themes.

Parent Previews. Check out movies before you go to them with these reviews  written by  parents, for  parents.

Family Style Movie Guide. A helpful Web site when choosing a family movie, it rates profanity, nudity, sex, violence and  drugs  and alchol in an easy-to-read chart.

Development/Health

Autism Society of North Carolina. Information for people with ASD and their families. Site includes links to reference articles, lists of books and local news and events.

PediatricPlanet.com. Just like the popular WebMD, you can search this site by symptoms or disease, but the information that comes back is tailored for kids. The site also has tons of useful information on developmental stages, recent news about kids health and tips for staying healthy.

BabyCenter.com. If you didn't register here when you were expecting, it's not too late to take advantage of this helpful resource. The site contains expert advice on everything from sleep habits to behavior issues, developmental stages and community resources to chat with other parents.

Parenting Toddlers. We all know the toddler stage is a challenge, and this site has some great information for parents who are living through the "terrible twos."

All About Preteens. Wondering how to have the "sex" talk? Dealing with issues like peer pressure and fitting in? This site has some good articles to help with parenting these budding adults.

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Recalls and product safety news.
