Clever Cat, Harry Hat Man and Red Robot are returning to Tweetsie Railroad for its Letterland Learning Express Days on May 3-5 and 10-12. Kids can meet their favorite characters at the theme park, ride Talking Tess’s train, visit Eddy Elephant’s Gem Mine, ride Firefighter Fred’s Ferris Wheel and more.

Letterland is a program that uses characters to teach phonics with storytelling to encourage literacy among children ages 3-8. This will be the ninth year Tweetsie has hosted the event, which is popular with school groups and fills up quickly.

Advance reservations are required. School groups receive a special rate of $22 for children ages 3-12 and $38 for children age 13 and up. Golden Rail Season Pass holders can bring their pass for free admission. Once a group reservation is made, each group will be assigned a train ride time and lunch time and location. Teachers can prepare students before the trip with curriculum guides available on Tweetsie’s website.
