Have you decided to be creatively thrifty with your Christmas gifts this year? Well, don’t feel like a Scrooge, you have lots of company. And as luck would have it, you’ll have plenty to choose from when the Southern Christmas Show returns to The Park Expo and Conference Center in Charlotte on November 11.

While the annual holiday shopping extravaganza includes fabulous heirloom-quality treasures for those looking for something special, the show has also long been known as the place to find just-right, and right-priced, gifts for friends and family. And again this year, the show promises to be packed with unique finds for every budget.

"Anyone who has been to the show knows there are thousands of gifts under $20." says Assistant Show Manager Christine Cipriano. The show receives hundreds of applications, and it is Cipriano's job to identify new artists and companies to participate. "When we choose new participants, we focus on new, unusual and affordable gifts and décor."

Here is a quick preview of the show’s over 400 merchants discovered hundreds of unique gifts from $3 to $20:

Cheese Straws. Bursting with a super cheesy flavor, Kim's Cheese Straws are a uniquely southern experience. Made by hand, these crispy snacks are perfect to have out during the holidays, and make a great party gift. They come in four flavors: Original Cheddar, Parmesan, Tomato Basil and Hot Habanero.

Red Clay Shirts. Nothing says you're proud of your state like a shirt dyed in authentic North Carolina red clay. Authentic NC Red Dirt Shirts makes 100% cotton items, including t-shirts and caps, with that distinctive reddish-brown color that we all know and love.

Alma Mater Memories. Pen and Ink prints drawings by local artist Michael James depict regional colleges, universities and local scenes.

Cookie Cutters. What's better than a warm cookie? A warm cookie in a fun shape! Aaron's Cookie Cutters & More has over 800 different cookie cutter shapes and over 100 different sprinkles.

Pop-up Holiday Greetings. These beautiful hand-cut holiday greeting cards from Dimensional Greetings spring to life as the card is opened.

Sleigh Bells Ring. The Bellmeister creates jingling leather door hangers and other bell décor.

Go Fish. Go Fish creates hand painted functional art for kids. These include wall art, treasure boxes, desk caddies and necklace holders.

Happy Quilts. Designer/quilter Kelly Rose hand-makes beautiful quilts designed to be passed from one generation to another. She also has fun and affordable baby bibs and zippered pouches that are great for gifting.

For the Devoted Fan. What do you get the sports fan who's also a devoted Christian? How about a book full of devotionals based on his favorite team. Extra Point Publishers had 38 teams from which to choose.

Special Serving. Want to dress up that hors d'oeuvres platter? Beautiful bowls, spoons and other decorative items from Wireworx may be the answer.

Personally Framed. Giftworks Plus customizes handmade alderwood frames and mattes with the name or inscription of your choice.

In addition to fabulous shopping, the show features a quaint village where guests can browse shops, craft tents, and special features.  There’s a miniature village with tiny houses, a model railroad exhibit, decorated trees, mantels, doors, and rooms.  Plus, a cheerful entertainment stage, where choirs, magicians and storytellers perform.

For those determined to keep their thrifty and creative budget intact, check out for vendor discounts and coupons. At this site you can also order tickets and get complete show details. For more information, you can also call 800-849-0248.
