As we welcome April and milder weather, we look forward to celebrating Earth Month, the NC Science Festival and, as the month wraps up, we'll be launching our 2016 Fit Family Challenge. This weekend, there are plenty of opportunities around the Triad to get outside and celebrate the beautiful weather, gorgeous blooms and a brand new spring month.

ArtsRevolution Artapalooza, Greensboro

Experience the Triad's vibrant arts in a festival atmosphere with performers, select local art vendors and interactive events. This festival features everything from musicians, comedians and chefs to visual art demonstrations and dance. With local vendors and food trucks, ArtsRevolution Artapalooza offers fun for the whole family.

Forsyth Audubon Bird Walks, Forsyth County Locations

Creeks are wonderful places to watch birds drinking water, foraging on creek-side vegetation or bathing. An experienced birder from Forsyth Audubon will lead a slow walk along the creek. No birding experience necessary. This walk is perfect for anyone who is interested in birds. Families and young children who like birds are welcome. Bring binoculars! This event is part of Forsyth Creek Week.

“Grinding the Seed Corn of the Nation” NC Junior Reserve Civil War Encampment, Burlington

Reenactors portraying young soldiers will hold a special living history program, featuring drill demonstrations, firing demonstrations and an examination into the experience and motivations of the boys called “the seed corn of the nation.”

Salem Creek Greenway Segway Trail Ride, Winston-Salem

Riding a Segway along the Salem Creek Trail gives you the mobility of a bicycle with the ability to stand still to feast on the natural beauty. Creek Week partner Triad ECO Adventures is offering 50 percent off for Creek Weekers who sign up for their guided Salem Creek Greenway Segway Trail Ride. This event is part of Forsyth Creek Week.

The Bear Necessities, Asheboro

Come out of hibernation for a "bear-y" good time with our resident bears. Bring your teddy bear to the Teddy Bear Clinic for a check-up with zoo veterinarian staff.
