Alamance County

Burlington Recreation & Parks

The Burlington Recreation and Parks Department has three public swimming pools. The David L. Maynard Sr. Aquatic Center, 1402 Overbrook Road, is a 300,000-gallon year-round aquatic center with six 25-yard competition lanes, a toddler pool with a frog slide and a zero-entry ramp. The MAC also operates an outdoor facility mid-May through Labor Day weekend. A 114-by-202-foot bubble encloses the aquatic center during fall and winter, allowing swimming to take place year-round. Splash Park, next to the MAC, has more than 30 features. It has a garden theme with brightly colored hoses, dump buckets, sprayers and sprinklers. 2017 opening date is TBD.

North Park Pool, adjacent to the Mayco Bigelow Center, is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Call 336-222-5092

The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department operates two year-round indoor pools at Smith High School and Smith Senior Center, as well as four seasonal outdoor pools and two spray grounds. Pools have varying hours and fees; please check website for details.

High Point Parks and Recreation Department operates two swimming pools and one splash pad during the summer. Pools open on Memorial Day weekend and are open on weekends only until Guilford County Schools are out for the summer, then weekday operation is added; all pools close around mid-August.
