Paint flies, music plays, black lights glow, bubble wrap pops, and audience members dance. The interactive arts, music and dance extravaganza 'Artrageous!' is coming to the High Point Theatre, Saturday, Jan. 14, at 8 p.m.

Artrageous! was founded by a group of friends who began as street performers and life-sized theatrical puppeteers more than 20 years ago on the streets of Granville Island in Vancouver, Canada. With the initial purpose of exploring the arts and traveling to experience the world, the ensemble has since gone on to dazzle their audiences with more than 2,500 national and international performances.

The Artrageous! troupe of artists, musicians, singers and dancers will pay tribute to a variety of art forms, pop icons and musical genres - from Lennon to Elvis, Hendrix to Journey - culminating in a gallery of finished paintings. The audience will watch as three artists paint at electric speed to unveil larger-than-life art in just moments while accompanied by a mix of vocals, choreography and audience interaction.

"Artrageous! promises to be one of our most exciting and unique shows of the season,” says High Point Theatre Director David Briggs. “It is almost impossible to describe the energy and creativity of this unique show. The audience can expect non-stop action for an experience they will never forget.”

Tickets are $20-$35, available at the High Point Theatre box office by calling 336-887-3001 and online at highpointtheatre.com.
