1. Small Fry Friday at the Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem

Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. Enjoy story time with your preschooler and make a craft. Included with admission.


2. $4 Fun Friday Night at the Greensboro Children’s Museum

Dec. 30 at 5 p.m. Enjoy $4 admission per per person after 5 p.m.


3. DIY Spa Workshop at Hemphill Library | Greensboro

Dec. 30 at 3 p.m. Teen Craft Event at Hemphill Library. Make your own beauty products with easy techniques and fun ingredients. Create cucumber face mask, crayon lipstick and vanilla moisturizer bar. Each participant will take home their own creations.


4. Rock ’n’ Roll New Year’s Eve at the Greensboro Children’s Museum

Dec. 31, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Welcome 2017 with music, bubble balls, dancing, face painting and more.


5. Happy Noon Year at Kathleen Clay Edwards Library | Greensboro

Dec. 31, 11:30 a.m. Have a rockin’ time counting down to noon on New Year’s Eve. Make a party hat to wear, add to our Resolution Tree and more. Then, enjoy a sparkling cider toast at  noon.


6. Noon Year’s Eve Celebration at the Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem

Dec. 31, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Enjoy a countdown to Noon Year’s Eve. Create your very own sound shaker in the Art Studio beginning at 10 a.m. At 11:40 a.m., visitors will gather for fun songs, silly activities and a story time. The event will end with a countdown to the “Noon” year.


7. Saturday Storytime Express at Glenwood Library | Greensboro

Dec. 31, 10:30 a.m. All aboard the Saturday Storytime Express for rhymes, songs, short videos and more. This is a preschool story time for ages birth to 5 and their siblings.


8. First Day Hikes

Spend the first day of 2017 enjoying a hike in one of NC’s state parks.


9. Kwanzaa Celebration | Winston-Salem

Jan. 1, 2-4 p.m. The event will include African dance, music and art


10. Tanglewood Festival of Lights | Clemmons
