It's Piedmont Parent night at the UNCG Theatre for Young People. Join us on November 13 for the opening night of "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe." The classic tale by C.S. Lewis about a family of children who travel through a wardrobe into the magical world of Narnia comes to life in this production. It's a great conversation starter for young and old alike.
Piedmont Parent readers are invited to see the play just by bringing a donation of canned food which will be exchanged for a ticket in the lobby. Piedmont Parent staff will be on-hand to help collect the food, and UNCG Theatre students will take the food to Urban Ministries.
The performance will be held at the Taylor Theatre on UNCG's campus, 406 Tate St., GSO. For Friday's show, doors open at 6 p.m. and the performance starts at 7 p.m.

Help us fill the theater for this wonderful holiday production, and help others at the same time!
Bookmarks is one of the biggest book festivals in our area and a great family event, and Piedmont Parent was proud to be a part of it again this year in September 2009. Lok for more details on next year's event as the time approaches.
It's become an annual tradition in the Piedmont, and a great outlet for our kids' creativity. Each year we host a writing contest, and every participant is invited to join us for a reception and recognition of the winners at our Young Authors Reception, to be held January 31 this year.
For more information on the contest and the reception visit the Young Authors page.
