Bookmarks
Piedmont Parent is proud to be a sponsor of this year's Bookmarks Book Festival, one of the largest local festivals celebrating books, reading, authors and illustrators. It will be held Saturday, September 13 at Bathabara Park.
As always, there will be plenty for the whole family to do, with a great lineup of authors on hand to read from their work, talk about their experiences and sign books. Some of the children's authors for this year's event include Nikki Giovanni, author of The Grasshopper's Song, and Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin, the author illustrator team who's brought us great books like Duck for President.
Moms@Work
The nominations are in and the results are being tallied for this year's Family Friendly 40 awards. In the meantime, we're also busy planning this year's Moms@Work luncheon. Each year Piedmont Parent teams up with its sister publication, Charlotte Parent, to host the event that honors our Family Friendly 40 winners. This year's speaker will be Ellyn Spragins, author of "What I Know Now: Letters to My Younger Self." For more information visit www.charlotteparent.com.

Maize Adventure.
Piedmont Parent Magazine is a proud sponsor of this fun family activity in High Point. Every summer Kersey Valley Farm transforms into a field of adventure, with more than four miles of twisting, turning paths through tall cornfields. In addition to the Maize maze, other activities for kids include a fossil dig and a scarecrow contest. For more information visit www.maizeadventure.com.
