The City of Burlington offers youth lacrosse for Spring and Fall. This sport combines basketball, soccer, and hockey for a fast paced, action-packed game. Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in North Carolina and across the Country. Three leagues are offered for children 7-14 years of age. Participants must be seven years of age by January 1 to participate. No experience is necessary. The Fall Season is instruction-oriented with just Saturday morning practices, while the Spring Season includes a full game and practice schedule.

Youth Baseball is offered for kids ages 7-14 and emphasizes fun while teaching basic skills as participants move toward competitive play. Seven to 10-year-olds are not required to try out for teams. Players age 11 or older may be cut from teams based on skill levels, but every effort is made to place them on teams. The age cut-off date for all age groups is April 30.
Leagues are made up of Greensboro Parks & Recreation teams, which are charged a team entry fee, and associations that set their own fees and ``select`` their own coaches. Some teams are sponsored by local businesses, but additional fees may be assessed for each player to cover the cost of equipment, uniforms, and other items.

| The Girls Fast Pitch program is a cooperative venture between Greensboro Parks & Recreation and the Girls Fast Pitch Softball Association %28GGFSA %29. The program helps to improve skills and brings the fast-paced game to youth in preparation for school competition. | The Bitty Ball program is an introduction to baseball for 4, 5 and 6 year olds. Four year olds will play strictly by the T-ball format and 5 and 6 year olds will play together using a modified T-ball format. Age groups will be based on the player's age as of April 30. Players are taught basic skills with an emphasis on having fun. Registration will begin in mid February and games will begin in early April. |

Registration for the Youth Basketball League is going on now at Brown, Leonard, Lewis, Lindley and Trotter Centers. The League play begins in January 2009. To register, stop by the recreation center in your area as listed below, during regular center hours. Bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate and your current Parent’s Association for Youth Sports PAYS card.

Volunteer coaches from each recreation center and/or youth athletic association work with youth on the latest in cheerleading chants, cheers, and dnaces. The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department partners with the Greensboro Youth Soccer Association to provide recreational youth soccer leagues in Greensboro. GYSA sponsors fall leagues for 4 year olds and up, with registration in late May through mid-June. Both the GYSA, for 4-6 year olds, and the Parks and Recreation Department, for 7 year olds and up, sponsor spring leagues with registration in November. Player eligibility is based on the player's age from August 1 through July 31 of the given year. Parents need to complete the PAYS Program as a part of player registration. Team registration fees are $150 for the 7-8 year old age group, $300 for the 9-10 year old age group and $350 for 11 year olds and up. The YMCA is taking registration for its spring soccer program which runs January to end of February.
Little Kicks (Ages 3-4) - Practices are typically available ONE day a week (Mon or Tues) at 5:45pm with games on Saturday mornings.
Strikers (Ages 5-6) - Practices are typically available ONE day a week (Wed or Thurs) at 5:45pm with games on Saturday mornings.
Y-8's (Ages 7-8) - Practices are ONE day a week, Monday through Thursday, starting between 5:30-7pm and games on Saturdays.
Y-11's Co-ed (Ages 9-11) - Practices are ONE day a week, Monday through Thursday, starting between 5:30-7pm and games on Saturdays. League may be played with Thomasville YMCA.
Y-14's Co-ed (Ages 12-14) - Practices are ONE day a week, Monday through Thursday, starting between 5:30-7pm and games on Monday and Saturday. League may be played with Archdale and Thomasville YMCAs.
Registration will end February 28. Practices will start the week of Marh 8th for 3-6 year olds with the first game on March 20. Practices will start on March 15 for 7-14 year olds with their first game on March 27.

The YMCA is taking registration for its spring soccer program which runs January to end of February.
Little Kicks (Ages 3-4) - Practices are typically available ONE day a week (Mon or Tues) at 5:45pm with games on Saturday mornings.
Strikers (Ages 5-6) - Practices are typically available ONE day a week (Wed or Thurs) at 5:45pm with games on Saturday mornings.
Y-8's (Ages 7-8) - Practices are ONE day a week, Monday through Thursday, starting between 5:30-7pm and games on Saturdays.
Y-11's Co-ed (Ages 9-11) - Practices are ONE day a week, Monday through Thursday, starting between 5:30-7pm and games on Saturdays. League may be played with Thomasville YMCA.
Y-14's Co-ed (Ages 12-14) - Practices are ONE day a week, Monday through Thursday, starting between 5:30-7pm and games on Monday and Saturday. League may be played with Archdale and Thomasville YMCAs.
Registration will end February 28. Practices will start the week of Marh 8th for 3-6 year olds with the first game on March 20. Practices will start on March 15 for 7-14 year olds with their first game on March 27.
Cost: $55/Members; $80/Non Members
$10 late fee after February 28th

T-ball: This program teaches basic baseball fundamentals with the ball being placed on a batting tee each at bat.
Modified T-ball: Each batter will receive four pitches from the coach; if the ball is not hit after 4 pitches then it is placed on the batting tee.
Coach Pitch: Each batter will receive up to 6 pitches from the coach.
Kid Pitch: Batters will receive pitches from the opposing team’s pitcher.
