NC By Train and Amtrak Offer Summer $5 Kids Ride Deal

Kids ages 2-12 can ride for $5 to 12 destinations in North Carolina

All aboard! Through an agreement with Amtrak, NC By Train is offering a summer 2017 deal June 1-Aug. 31 through which children ages 2-12 can ride for $5 (with the purchase of a regularly priced adult ticket) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. 

NC By Train’s Piedmont and Carolinian trains are sponsored by NCDOT and operated by Amtrak. These trains provide daily service from Raleigh to Charlotte, plus seven additional stops in between.

Children must be accompanied by a paid adult who pays the full fare, and up to two children can ride for the discounted price per paying adult. When reserving tickets at ncbytrain.org/tickets/default.html, select the number of adults and number of kids and enter discount code V626. Terms and conditions apply.

  • Greensboro

  • Durham
